Dr. Daniela completed her Master of Science and Ph.D. in Orthodontics from the Department of Orthodontics Bauru School of Dentistry, University of São Paulo in 2000 and 2003 respectively. Currently, she is serving as Chair of the Department of Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, and Public Health. Bauru Dental School, University of São Paulo, Bauru, São Paulo and Full Professor of Orthodontics, Bauru Dental School, Hospital for Rehabilitation of Craniofacial Anomalies, University of São Paulo, Bauru, São Paulo. She has authored numerous publications in various national and international journals of repute and has made numerous presentations worldwide. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal for the World Federation of Orthodontists, Orthodontics and Craniofacial Research (OCR) and Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics and in the advisory Board of Progress in Orthodontics. She is a reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, The Angle Orthodontist, and the Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal. She is the winner of the 2021 B.F. and Helen E. Dewel Award from the American Journal of
Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics with the article “Maxillary expander with
differential opening vs Hyrax expander: A randomized clinical trial”. She holds two patents on rapid maxillary expansion.
